Pagan Origins Christmas :We have often wondered what do Reindeer and Santa Clause have to do with a Savior’s Birth? Have you ever wondered if Christ was born December 25th why is there no record than of his birthday in Bible. Many will say they know Christmas is not in the Bible but how can the holiday be wiring when there seems to be so much joy. The issues is from a human standpoint the Holiday looks fine but if we take a look into what the Bible says we see something different.
Jeremiah 10:1 -6
1 Hear ye the word which speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
10:2 Thus saith , Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Here we are told not to learn pagan customs and mix them. That is exactly what Christmas is, the mixture of a little Bible with a lot of pagan customs which our creator says is not how we should worship or honor him.
Exodus Example
Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.” 3 So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. 4 He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods,[b] Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”
5 When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the Lord.” 6 So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.
Idols And Truth
7 “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. 8 They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.’
Notice they decided they were going to worship the Creator with pagan customs again we are not to do this.
Pagan Origins Christmas – Sun God Worship
The following is a quote from the 2000 Encyclopædia Britannica, Volume 11 ; page 390.
“During the later periods of Roman history, sun worship gained in importance and ultimately led to what has been called a ‘solar monotheism.’ Nearly all the gods of the period were possessed of Solar qualities, and both Christ and Mithra acquired the traits of solar deities. The feast of Sol Invictus (open unconquered Sun) on December 25th was celebrated with great joy, and eventually this date was taken over by the Christians as Christmas, the birthday of Christ.”
Notice how it says “both Christ and Mithra acquired the traits of solar deities?” Pardon me, but do any alarm bells go off here?
The Christians were apparently trying to get more converts so they tried to make the Messiah more like the idols found in sun worship—all under the guise of making Him more attractive to pagans.
