Guide for Keeping the Passover at Home

Guide for Keeping the Passover at Home – (an alternative to following the live Passover service-consult each passage)

The Passover is a command of Yahweh, one of the seven appointed times given to His people, Exodus 12:3-14; Leviticus 23:5.

Passover is obligatory for us as for Israel of old. Today’s True Worshipers are the Israel of Yahweh, Galatians 6:16.

Yahshua kept the memorial with His disciples, Mark 14:12; Luke 22:7, 11, 13-18. Yahshua will also be keeping it in the Kingdom.

Numbers 9:13 – Failure to keep the Passover jeopardizes salvation.

Exodus 12:43-49: Only those circumcised in heart today are to partake of the Passover. This means those immersed into Yahshua’s Name, Colossians 2:11-13. Those not yet immersed may still learn about it.

Self-Examination is a prerequisite for Passover
1Corinthians 11: 28: “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.”

Passover in Old and New Testaments as Parallel Events
In both Passovers, saving of the firstborn was paramount. This applies to the firstfruit believers for the resurrection today.

Romans 11: The blood of Yahshua is made available to spiritual Israel, Yahweh’s people who have taken hold of the Covenant and have molded their lives accordingly.
Exodus 3:18:

1. The Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread were proclaimed before Sinai.

2. The Feast could not be kept in Egypt. Passover was kept there in Goshen and
therefore is separate from the Feast.

Every sin exacts a price. Yahshua took on the weight of all our sins.

Yahshua’s Pre-Passover Trial and Impalement
Mark 14, John 18-the NT account of Yahshua’s betrayal, six trials, suffering and death.
John 19:1-6–Pilate himself finds Yahshua innocent but beats Him anyway. John 19:7-16—They killed Him for the truth.

Isaiah 53:3-11 (an amazingly accurate fulfillment of prophecy.): “But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 50:6 He willingly submitted to the beatings. Isaiah 52:14 – His appearance was so marred that He barely looked human.

Galatians 3:13 He became a curse for our sins

1Peter 2:24 We are healed by His suffering

PARTAKING OF THE MEMORIAL SERVICE EMBLEMS
With perhaps a greater appreciation of what His suffering and death meant, let us now join with Yahshua and disciples in that last Passover He held with them before He died.

John 13:4-17: FOOTWASHING —men and women retire to separate quarters with a basin of water and towel. Soap unnecessaery. If alone, this part is skipped.

John 6:28-51 The lesson of manna or bread is a lesson in the true Bread of Life sent by Yahweh the Father.

Matthew 26:26: BREAD –[Take a piece of unleavened bread, offer prayer, solemnly eat.]
Hebrews 9:11-28 Yahweh commanded Israel of old to make animal sacrifices. The blood of Yahshua is the better sacrifice, Matthew 26:27-29

BLOOD OF THE GRAPE – [Take an ounce or two of grape juice in a cup, offer prayer, solemnly imbibe]

Matthew 26:30 they sang a song to close the service

End the service proper with reading Hebrews 4:14-16

Passover is a solemn night of watching, Matthew 26:40

Option: Read John 13-John 17
