2017 Feast of Tabernacles
Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry invites you to this year’s Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) celebration from the evening of October 5 – 13. Since the Last Great Day ends Friday evening, we encourage you to stay through the Sabbath, October 14 (there will be a service and meal provided). This important event will be observed in Holts Summit, Missouri, at YRM’s facilities.
Why Observe the Feast?
Number one and most importantly, it’s commanded by Yahweh! Leviticus 23:34-26, “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Yahweh. On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.”
This Feast is so crucial to Yahweh that all nations will observe it in the millennial Kingdom, “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahweh of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith Yahweh will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles,” Zechariah 14:16-19.
Number two, this Feast offers incredible insight into our Father’s plan of salvation for mankind. It represents not only Israel’s 40 years in the wilderness, but also prophetically points to the coming Kingdom, when Yahshua governs this earth.
Worship and Activities
Above all, the Feast is a time to worship Almighty Yahweh (Lev. 23:1). There is no greater purpose! To follow this command, we have scheduled daily worship services along with several Bible studies throughout the Feast. We also have scheduled a baptismal service for those seeking immersion into Yahshua’s Name. We will have our traditional Night of Special Music and all are invited to participate. To honor our Father in heaven, we ask that all Feastgoers make an effort to attend each day as this is a commanded, eight-day observance. In addition to worship services, we’ll have several activities for the young and young-at-heart. Activities include: roller skating, board games, men’s basketball, ladies’ self-defense class led by a 4th degree black belt, human hungry hungry hippos, horseshoes, softball, black light volleyball, and an afternoon at Turkey Creek Golf Center.
For lodging, YRM has a campground with 12 RV sites full-hookups (currently, all 12 RV sites are reserved) and several tent sites. For the adventurous, there is also plenty of room for primitive tenting. RV and tent sites will be pre-assigned. Except for primitive camping, all sites have access to electricity. We ask a minimum donation of $50 for electric tent sites and $25 for primitive tent sites. The donation covers all eight days of the Feast. Please note that smoking is not permitted on assembly grounds, including the campground.
There is also one hotel, America’s Best Value Inn, in Holts Summit, two miles from the Assembly. You can receive a discounted rate of $60 per night if you inform the hotel that you are here for the Feast of Tabernacles. (This discount is valid only by phone or in person.) Also, to save tax, you can pay the Ministry for the total lodging and we can then provide a lump sum payment to the hotel using our tax exempt status. However, you will still need to provide a credit card at reservation. To reserve a room, call 573-896-8787. We suggest making your reservation as early as possible, as the rooms fill fast in this hotel.
There are also other hotel options in Jefferson City, MO, 10-15 miles from the Assembly. For more information on lodgings or any other general inquires, go online or contact the Ministry toll free at 844-899-6438. Also, see our Plan a Visit page.
Whether you stay on or off YRM facilities, we also ask for a minimum donation of $50 per registration. This donation will be used for supplies throughout the Feast.
While most meals will be provided by YRM, there will be a few lunches and dinners that individuals will need to provide for themselves. For a complete listing of meals, see Feast schedule. To help cover the cost of meals, we will be collecting donations throughout the Feast.
We encourage all those 18 years and older to volunteer at registration. There are many different opportunities, including: Meeting Hall Clean-up, Fellowship Hall Clean-up, Dishwashing & Kitchen, Clean-up, Meal Preparation, Men’s Bathroom Clean-up, Women’s Bathroom Clean-up, Nursery/Playroom Clean up, Gym Clean-up, and Gym Monitor. Please note that food preparation does not include cooking the meals, but only heating and putting the meals together. This will normally be done during the morning worship service, including on Sabbath and High days. If you rather not serve on the Sabbath or High days, please note that on the registration form in Comments. Also, for Nursery/Playroom Clean-up, we invite the youth (ages 11-17) to also participate.
Airport and Bus Connections
The closest airport to Holts Summit is the Columbia Regional Airport. However, it may be more affordable to fly into St. Louis or Kansas City, Missouri. For those taking Greyhound, the closest depot is in Jefferson City, MO. Due to the distance from the assembly, visitors flying into Kansas City and St. Louis airports will need to provide their own transportation or schedule a pickup and drop-off by Mo-X shuttle service from the Kansas City and St. Louis airports to the pickup location in Kingdom City. You can reserve a ride online at moexpress.com or by calling (877) 669-4826. If advance notice is given to YRM, the Ministry will provide a shuttle from Kingdom City to Holts Summit.
For the safety of the assembly, especially our children, the Ministry will be conducting background checks from SMART for all those 18 years and older. The Ministry reserves the right to request official identification upon arrival.
To ensure proper respect during worship times, and modesty throughout the Feast, we request that the following guidelines be honored: during worship times, men and boys should wear dress shirts and pants. Women and young ladies should wear dresses, skirts that cover the knee or dress pants. If you do not have adequate attire for worship, please come in your best, as we are coming before the King of the Universe. At all times, please avoid immodest shorts, sleeveless, tight or low-cut clothing. Also, women and young ladies should cover their heads during worship and men are to leave their heads uncovered (1Cor. 11:6-7).
Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry asks all who attend to respect our doctrines and not purposely spread discord. Our teachings and worship are in the Names Yahweh and Yahshua only. The Feast is a time to worship and to enjoy the company of like-minded believers, not to engage in doctrinal disputes. If you have a different belief from our Statement of Beliefs, we ask that you discuss it with only YRM’s ministers.
We pray that you will make plans NOW to join us for these special times. The time of reflection and spiritual growth during the Feast of Tabernacles will be a blessing for all in attendance! May Yahweh bless you in your desire to serve Him! To make your reservation, please complete and submit a reservation form with your donation.
