I did not see any material about tithing and the tithe. If you have an opinion about what the “biblical” tithe is I would appreciate hearing what you believe the tithe actually is (I will say that I think it is much more difficult than most realize, but you may have figured it out.) I am not referring to the principle of tithing, but to the actual “tithe.”
The Biblical explanation of the tithe speaks of a tenth of one’s “increase.” We don’t get too nitpicky about all the variables a person can probe like whether an investment nixes or adjusts the percentages or whether an amount has already been tithed upon because of extenuating circumstances. There is no end to that kind of thing if one were trying to get out of paying the tithe. We view the tithe as a starting point on which one is free to add more. It is the willingness of the heart to do what Yahweh expects which is the overriding concern.

I have no problem with tithing. Problem I have is the use. There’s 3 uses I read in the Bible. 1. Instead, I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the Lord . That is why I said concerning them: ‘They will have no inheritance among the Israelites.’ ” Numbers 18:24 NIV 2. When you have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that they… Read more »
There are three tithes taught in Scripture: The first is for Yahweh’s storehouse and belongs to Him for His work, Mal 3:10. The second is for your personal use for attending and enjoying the annual Feasts, Deut. 14:22-27. The third comes every three years and is reserved for the Levites, widows and orphans in the Assembly, Deut. 14:28-29.
You can find an online booklet on tithing at yrm.org
I pray this helps your understanding. It is all shown clearer than the NIV in the Restoration Study Bible and you may want one to study.
Dear YRM, I find it very interesting that you include tithe in your baptismal requirement. http://yrm.org/if-you-seek-baptism/ You state: “To put Yahweh first in my life through my worship, my time, and my tithe and to place Him before my spouse, family, friends and job?” Throughout your statement of faith and your teachings you go at the great length to explain how a Christian should abide by the letter of the law and obey all old 10 Bible based commandments (which in itself is denying our Lord Jeshua Messiah and his ransom sacrifice by continuing to practice that which was annulated… Read more »
We never state that we require anyone to donate anything to YRM. We do encourage a tithe, but it is not a requirement. We do not kick someone out if they do not tithe. We believe that scripture backs us up pertaining to the tithe, however if someone chooses NOT to tithe, that is NOT between us and them. That is between Yahweh and the person giving. We do not Baptize into YRM. We baptize into the body of Messiah. You have no idea. Not one cent of our tithe goes to paying our ministers. This is another baseless accusation… Read more »
