Our Newest Venture: Bite-size Videos

Because the trend is for quick information in this age of apps, we are producing shorter videos on key Biblical topics. One of those is already on our Website, titled, “How to Study the Bible for Beginners.” Watch for more in the weeks ahead. And please share them with family and friends. Fourth Edition Bible Nearing Completion

Bro. Randy Dimmett has completed a proof copy of the next Restoration Study Bible. Once approved, the Bible will advance to the next step in preparation for the publisher. Bro. Ryan Mansager has been working on a cover design for the outreach paperback version, while the covers for the others have been chosen. This fourth edition will have several new features, including a real leather cover on one of the selections, but we still plan to keep all costs down to rock bottom. One assembly in Missouri recently asked for 800 Bibles for their ministry of distributing the RSB free in their area.

Restoration Times in Mail Soon

The November-December Restoration Times magazine is in the finishing stages and should be in the mail before the end of the month. The workload at YRM has caused us a delay, which we plan to rectify in future issues.

Memorial for Delwin Wilson

Long-time brother in the faith, Delwin Wilson, passed away Dec. 7. Delwin at times attended Sabbath services with us and he laid the carpet for the Recreation Center at YRM. He and the Wilson family have been active in the Sacred Name for four decades. YRM offered its facilities for a memorial service on Wednesday, which was attended by brethren in a few other Sacred Name groups.

Contributions Reminder

A reminder for those who want their tax-deductible donations to YRM to register this year, they will need to have them postmarked on or before Dec. 31. May Yahweh bless you for your diligent support.

Another BLAST FROM THE PAST (1999): “Welcome to the first issue of The News of Yahweh’s Restoration, a periodical of Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry. Our goal is to keep you informed about this new work as well as to provide solid, Biblical instruction that will help guide your walk in His Truth. We have some ambitious goals and our prayer is that you will help us fulfill them! We can be the people Almighty Yahweh is looking for.

“Precious little time remains before the return of Yahshua. The Bride of the Messiah must make herself ready, Revelation 19:7. Time for playing religion is over. Self-serving should have no place among Yahweh’s people. If you are as weary of these things as we are, then let us begin a completely new walk with Yahshua. Let each of us make real spiritual growth our foremost desire as we become molded into the pattern image of Yahshua.

“All of us must be very serious about our goal to be future priests in Yahshua’s Kingdom. Signs show that His appearing is very close now. It is time each of us takes a hard look at ourselves. Where are we weak spiritually? How can we improve? Are we living the life exemplified by the Messiah Yahshua, or does the world dominate our behavior and attitudes? Do we as Yahweh’s people really show the fruits of the spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23? Or when under stress do we revert to the carnal behavior of the unconverted man?

“Beyond the need for personal growth, we each must ask, how can I reach others with the truth of Yahweh’s Word? How can I best explain Yahweh to my family, friends, and casual acquaintances? To help you, we have begun a series of brochures called, Defending the Truth, which will provide solid, Scriptural answers when you are confronted by common arguments and don’t quite know how to respond. Our first in this series deals with the Sabbath. Simply ask for it.

“Our focus is to glorify Yahweh in all facets of our walk. We will not be afraid of the truth or meat of Yahweh’s Word. And neither will we neglect the growth of the individual. Spiritual maturity is where all the teachings of Scripture converge. That is what the Truth is ultimately all about and the reason Yahshua came. We need to change from our vile humanness into a creation Yahweh can use. Each of us must work hardest on the inner man.

“Are you the same person you were a year ago? Six months ago? A week ago? We hope your answer is no. We should all be transforming spiritually while growing into the image of Yahshua Himself. It will not happen all at once, but it should be happening each day.

Unless you are feeding the inner man while learning and exercising Biblical principles, you are missing the boat.  More than anyone, Yahweh’s people should exemplify the fruits of the Spirit. The ex-ample you lead in your life may be the only Bible some will ever read.

“Our desire is to present our publications and recorded tapes in a professional manner. You should not be ashamed to share these materials with relatives and friends. In fact, we highly encourage it. This is not a “me too” duplication of what other ministries and assemblies are already doing. Our desire is to give Yahweh’s people both food and understanding to grow with, and the right tools with which to share it all.

“You may be wondering why are we called Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry. What is being restored? The answer is in Isaiah 58:12, which is on our official seal: ‘And they that shall be of you shall build the old waste places: you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.’ This ministry is preparing the way by bringing back the true precepts of Yahweh and teachings of Yahshua.”

What is the Nomina Sacra?

  1. Manuscripts from a secret heretical sect in the fifth century
  2. Old Testament scrolls discovered near Mt. Sinai in Arabia
  3. Rabbinic rites condemned by the Messiah
  4. Word abbreviations found in the Greek New Testament

The term Nomina Sacra is Latin for “Sacred Names” and refers to abbreviations found in the early Greek New Testament manuscripts. As noted in the Restoration Study Bible, “[It] was a literary device used to abbreviate several words in early Greek NT manuscripts. Bruce Metzger’s book, Manuscripts of the Greek Bible, lists 15 examples of these abbreviations from Greek papyri: God, Lord, Jesus, Christ, Son, Spirit, David, cross, mother, father, Israel, Savior, man, Jerusalem, and heaven (examples appear as found in KJV). Except for “mother,” which is not found until the 4th century CE, all other Nomina Sacra have been found in Greek manuscripts from the first through third centuries CE. While scholars are still debating their purpose, some propose that this shortening of key words may have been used to replace the Tetragrammaton (see Ex. 3:15) with the common title Kurios (typically abbreviated “KS” with a line above), in Greek Christian manuscripts, as found within this passage. This offers a possible explanation as to why Yahweh’s Name is missing from the Greek NT. In fact, in those places where the Tetragrammaton should appear, the definite article is missing in front of the [Nomina Sacra]. This conclusion is supported also by German scholar David Trobisch’s work, The First Edition of The New Testament….” (note on Matt. 1:22). Answer: D.

A New Video on Bible Study Tips and Tools
We just completed the first in a series of new instructional videos on effective Bible study, which includes helpful guides and resources. It is a quick overview on how to study the Scriptures, the tools available and the ways they work. In future recordings we will take in-depth looks at concordances, lexicons and study Bibles, how to use them, and what to be aware of and watch out for. Proper Bible study is key to enhanced understanding and retention of Yahweh’s Word. The vast majority of bogus doctrines results from poor study and application of the Word. BLAST FROM THE PAST
(As a new feature of the e-News, we are looking over our shoulders with articles from our previous newsletters, “The News of Yahweh’s Restoration.” It is eye-opening to look back at our humble beginnings through nostalgic reads from our formative years and see how we have been blessed. We pray you will find each one interesting and uplifting. We start with the one below, the year we became YRM.)

Computer Fund Begun
We at Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry have been stretching the widow’s mite to the snapping point in an effort to produce audio tapes, booklets, and newsletters. (We pay no salaries.) We did not anticipate having our only publishing computer go down for a while in April, forcing us to miss our deadline and combine issues of this newsletter. Clearly, the Ministry needs its own a computer, rather than rely on an aging machine belonging to a brother. Our goal is to raise $2,000 toward its purchase. If you can help us in ANY way, we would be very, very grateful. May Yahweh bless you!” (from the April-May 1999 issue)

Tabernacle Travels
David successfully transferred the Ark of the Covenant to a position on Mount Zion, Jerusalem, where a custom Tabernacle was built for it. What became of the old Tabernacle of Moses, which was formerly at Shiloh?

A. It was destroyed in a fire.
B. It moved around, just as in the old days.
C. It was forgotten and abandoned.
D. It was captured by the Midianites.

The ministry of the Tabernacle and the Ark that operated at Shiloh under Eli and his very corrupt sons, closes with a prophecy that the ministry would be stripped from Eli’s house, 1Samuel 2. A series of political and social events brought the Ark to Jerusalem under David (2Sam. 6:17). But after the death of Eli and his sons, the Tabernacle ministry wound up at Nob (1Sam. 21). After Saul slew the priests at Nob, it moved to Gibeon. In fact, the priests at Nob were the keepers of Goliath’s sword (1Sam 21:9), and Gibeon is where Solomon later asked for wisdom (2Chr 1:3). By the time Solomon established the Temple at Jerusalem, there had been at least four legitimate sites for Tabernacle worship.

Control Room Gets Makeover for Enhanced Operating
We are remodeling the control room used for video programs and live Sabbath service broadcasting. The renovation will give our faithful volunteer technicians better ease and efficiency in operating the many electronics packed into the small space. Along with these improvements we plan to resume producing Discover the Truth programs and create more videos for 24-hour broadcasting on the YRM Network. Stay tuned for exciting news in future reports.

Last Days Revival in Progress
As the world sinks deeper into secularism we see a corresponding rise of interest in the Truth coming from nominal worship. An online blog reported that an Assembly of God pastor said most of his congregation began keeping the Sabbath and Feasts. “Apparently there are a number of AoG congregations that have begun to take all of G-d’s Word seriously,” the blog noted, including 100 Southern Baptist missionaries who “walk as Messiah did, keeping Sabbath, eating clean and keeping Feasts,” including several pastors who made the switch in the last year. Now if they would just complete their calling and worship in Yahweh’s personal Name!

Who was Moses’ undertaker?

A. Aaron

B. Yahweh

C. Michael the archangel

D. High priest

The death and burial of Moses is unique in Scripture. Because of his sin at the waters of Meribah Kadesh, Moses was allowed only to gaze at the Promised Land but could not enter it, Numbers 20:12. There on Mt. Nebo he died and Yahweh buried him somewhere in a secret location in a valley of Moab, Deuteronomy 34:5-6. Because of Israel’s penchant for idolatry, this was probably to keep them from making his gravesite a shrine. Curiously, Satan disputed with the archangel Michael over the body of Moses, Jude 1:9. Speculation swirls over the nature of the contention. The context indicates that Satan may have been accusing Moses, saying that because of sin Moses did not deserve a kingdom position, let alone to enter the Canaan. Satan is the accuser of the brethren, Rev. 12:10. But Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of Yahweh is the death of his saints.”

A Pivotal Key to Truth
Two of the most profound themes running through both testaments are the twin metaphors of firstfruits and firstborn. They speak to many key truths and guide us in understanding Yahweh’s design for this world and salvation. Firstfruits and the firstborn are instrumental in: family inheritances in both Old and New testaments, the biblical calendar and Feast days, Yahshua’s parables, and salvational rewards, to name some of the ways they impact truth. We are working on a booklet and possible Discover the Truth program digging deep into this commonly overlooked teaching that Yahweh gave us to explain His plan and purpose for His people. Your eyes will open to a new and greater understanding when you realize the significance of firstfruits in your walk in Truth and your salvation.

What is missing from the Apostle’s Paul’s salutations in his letters to the different assemblies?

A. Reference to the Holy Spirit
B. Yahweh’s Name
C. Yahshua’s Name
D. None of the above

Not once does Paul refer to the Holy Spirit in his salutations to the different assemblies. As noted in the Restoration Study Bible (1Thess. 1:1), “It is common for salutations in the NT to include the Father and Son. Not once, however, is the Holy Spirit mentioned in conjunction with the Father and Son….” This conscious exclusion offers additional verification that the Holy Spirit is not part of a triune majesty, but is the ruach power of our Father and His Son.

September-October Magazine in the Mail
The September-October Restoration Times (RT) was mailed this week. The issue examines the fascinating subject of angels in a first of a two-part article revealing where they came from, what they look like, their nature, what they do, and what they know. This latest issue also covers five principles of effective Bible study, the origin of Halloween, and a sneak preview of the new and improved Topical Reference for the Fourth edition of the Restoration Study Bible. As with virtually all of our literature, you can read this RT issue online at: https://yrm.org/restoration-times-sept-oct-2019/

Restoration Study Bible Nearing Final Production Phases
We are planning a mass review and proofreading of the Fourth Edition Restoration Study Bible. This new edition will have several expanded features and new covers to choose from. We also will have the outreach edition back in supply, which is always in high demand. Of all our outreach efforts and programs, the popular Bible has had a great impact on the Truth. Through the footnotes as well as utilizing Strong’s dictionaries at the back of the Bible, we have focused on clearing up many issues Bible students have typically had. Many of the questions we deal with weekly are answered in the RSB.

Who was known by Yahweh in the womb?
A. David
B. Jeremiah
C. Paul
D. All of the above

David (Ps. 71:6), Jeremiah (Jer. 1:5), John the Baptist (Luke 1:15), and Paul (Gal. 1:15) were all known by Yahweh in the womb. This confirms that life begins at conception and that abortion is murder.
Correct: D

Many find it easier to pray for forgiveness than to fight temptation.

What was the first infraction recorded in the Bible?

A – Touching of the forbidden fruit
B – Eating the forbidden fruit
C – Adding to the law
D – Nudity

In Eve’s conversation with the serpent, she declares that she was not allowed to touch the forbidden fruit (Gen 3:3). Yet no such command is recorded anywhere. Upon touching it, and seeing that nothing bad happen, she was likely emboldened to go the next step and eat it. It is not clear whether Eve created this command about touching the fruit, on the spot, or whether Adam instructed her in this way in order to put a hedge about the true command, which was simply to not eat of it (Gen 2:17). When people add to Yahweh’s law, it always creates false expectations and unseen consequences.
