Head Covering – Is It Important?

As we enter a time in history where respect, authority, and submission are met with arguments and challenging debate, the question of the importance of a head covering seems to be a recurring theme, especially among the women.  Is it still important today? Does the Father really expect us to cover our heads in worship?

I am writing from a woman’s perspective of wearing a head covering in worship to my Father. Yahweh is the King over all creation.  Yahweh has placed Yahshua in authority underneath Him and then has created man to serve next in line underneath Yahshua.  We see from Scripture that woman was created for man’s companionship and not the other way around:

Yahweh———-Yahshua———-man———-wife———-children.

Just as in a major company, there is a President (head), then someone next in line who serves the President and then there are managers who are underneath the Vice President and answer to him.  If there are problems or issues in the chain of command, the one in charge is the one who answers to his boss, etc. When we wear coverings on our head, especially in our worship, we are acknowledging that there is someone in authority over us, that we are submitting, agreeing, and recognizing the authority line that He has placed in existence.

In Genesis 24 we read of the situation where Rebecca sought to cover herself with a veil when she learned it was Isaac (her soon-to-be husband/master) who was approaching them.

Gen 24:65, “…and she had said to the servant, ‘Who is this man walking in the field to meet us? And the servant said, ‘It is my master.’ So she took a veil and covered herself.

When a sin or disobedience to Yahweh’s Word happened in the chain of command, we see in the following verse that the woman bore her sin alone and the husband was not responsible to account for her or bear her sin.  Her covering/protection was removed and she would bear full punishment for her actions.  Looking at the Scripture below, we surmise that if a woman was guilty of committing adultery or causing her husband to suspect her of adultery then she was brought to the temple and her head was “uncovered.”

Num 5:18, “And the priest shall make the woman stand before יהוה, and shall uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering for remembering in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy, while the priest holds in his hand the bitter water that brings a curse.”

An important aspect that seems to be missing in the concept of the head covering is that a woman is protected underneath her husband or her Father.  If her covering was removed or off of her head, then essentially her “protection” was no longer applicable.

Eph 5:22-27, “Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Master.”

Eph 5:23, “Because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Messiah is head of the assembly, and He is Savior of the body.”

Eph 5:24, “But as the assembly is subject to Messiah, so also let the wives be to their own husbands in every respect.”

Eph 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, as Messiah also did love the assembly and gave Himself for it.”

Eph 5:26, “in order to set it apart and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word,” (Footnote: Rev. 19:8-9).

Eph 5:27, “in order to present it to Himself a splendid assembly, not having spot or wrinkle or any of this sort, but that it might be set-apart and blameless.”

Wearing a head covering shows that we respect the chain of authority that Yahweh has put in place since creation.  The woman was made to serve the man and man was NOT made for the woman. The reason for the covering, I believe, is to know and understand that during worship we are in submission to our Creator and we are outwardly acknowledging that with our physical covering.

May YHWH be with you as you further your search for the truth!

Crunch Time for Tabernacles Preparations
With Feast of Tabernacles just a little over a week away, it’s down to the deadline. A reminder that
unless you’re staying in a motel room or RV, you will need to bring your own bedding for the Rec Center. The dorm rooms have mattresses, but you must provide your own sleeping bag, blankets and pillows. If there are any incontinence issues in your family please bring a waterproof mattress cover. You will also need to bring your own washcloths and towels for showers. The thermostat for the dorm rooms will be set in the low 70s, so if you’re someone who sleeps best in a chilly room, you might bring a small electric fan.

Also, don’t forget to bring along crock-pots for meal prep, your clothing for dressing up for Western Day, and any supplies you might need for the Chuck Wagon Cook-off. Weather permitting, there will be a campfire each evening so include your camp chairs.

A list of acceptable items to wear is very helpful. Therefore, I have included our Dress Code below in
red.

During times of worship:

* Dress shirts, collar shirt, and pants for men and boys.

* Dresses, skirts, or dress pants for women and young ladies.

* During services ladies must have their heads covered (scarves or hats) and men must keep their heads uncovered, 1Corinthians 11:5-7.

If you do not have dress attire for worship, please come in your best, as we are coming before the King of the Universe.

During other times at YRM please avoid immodest dress, including: low neckline, sleeveless, exposed back, skirt above the knees, exposed midriff, tight fitting, shorts, and see-through.

Two commercial refrigerators and chest freezers are available in the Activities Building kitchen area for those staying in the upstairs dorm rooms. Each of the downstairs rooms, which are reserved for the infirmed, has its own small refrigerator. Therefore, we ask that NO PERSONAL COOLERS OR ICE CHESTS be brought into the Activities Building. Also, since heat sources could be a major fire hazard, no heaters, clothes irons, hair irons, or candles are allowed in the dorm rooms.

If you are flying in and need public transportation, you will need to contact Mo-X, Missouri’s airport
shuttle service, to make arrangements to get you from the airport to the drop-off point. Call them toll-
free at: Toll Free 877-669-4826. Their schedules can be found online at reservations @ moexpress.com

For those flying to St. Louis your drop-off point will be in Kingdom City (approx. 30 min. from Holts
Summit); the drop-off point for those flying to Kansas City is Columbia (approx. 40 min. away). The
closest Greyhound bus station and Amtrak train station are both in Jefferson City, about a 10-minute
drive away. Please let us know immediately the day and time of your arrival at your drop-off point so
we can arrange to have you picked up.

When you arrive here, please remember to register so we will know you’re here and so you will know
exactly where you’ll be staying. Registration will begin next Friday, September 13, in the main entryway, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. May Yahweh bless your travels to His Feast!

Broadcasting During the Feasts
YRM will be broadcasting LIVE on the Day of Atonement (1:30 P.M like every other Sabbath) also every day during the Feast of Tabernacles. (10:30 A.M every morning for duration of the Feast). yrm.org/live

FINAL CALL for New Moon Sighting of the Seventh Month
As previously noted, the visible new moon crescent tonight will be difficult to see. If at least two reliable witnesses report it, then tonight will begin the Feast of Trumpets 2019. If not, the more likely confirmation tomorrow night will begin the Feast of Trumpets. Our Tabernacles activity calendar is based on the later sighting, but any activity changes either way will be negligible. Call the office at 573-896-1000 if you see it, or go to our new moon network website and make your report: https://yrm.org/new-moon-network/ We project only 37 minutes to see it tonight before it sets, being only 14 hours old. It will be 8.1 degrees high at sunset and will go down from there, and 5.4 degrees from the sun and razor thin. The probability of seeing it is highest in the West and Southwest U.S., weather permitting. A Saturday evening sighting will mean Tabernacles will have two Sabbath days back-to-back at each end.

TEST YOUR TUTELAGE
The Feast of Trumpets likely anticipates which event?
A. Yahshua’s death
B. Yahshua’s Second Coming
C. The millennial Kingdom
D. The Second Resurrection

The Feast of Trumpets likely represents the Messiah’s Second Coming and the resurrection of the saints in the first resurrection. The Bible often connects Yahshua’s coming with the sound of the trumpet. In 1Thessalonians 4:16-18 Paul describes Yahshua’s coming and the first resurrection with the sound of a great trumpet. See also 1Corinthians 15:52 and Revelation 1:10.

Another Immersion Blessing
We rejoiced to witness the baptism of Dillard Madden of the Holts Summit Assembly. Dillard has eagerly planned for this key step in his spiritual walk and commitment and we welcomed him into the Body of Messiah on Sabbath, August 17. The technical team has installed the equipment for live video of the actual immersions outside, and some have commented how this is encouraging them to consider this critical step themselves. We will have immersions at the upcoming Feast of Tabernacles as well and pray that many will come and make the commitment to Yahweh as they rejoice with others at His commanded Feast (Lev. 23). Are you or someone you know seeking baptism? Click here!

Magazine in the Mail
The July-August Restoration Times was mailed this week. Included with the magazine are offering slips as reminders that Yahweh commands offerings on each of His holy days. These upcoming holy days are Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles. Yahweh says “none shall appear before me empty [handed]” for His appointed Feasts (Deut. 16:16). You will be able to read the online version soon by clicking HERE>>

Multi-use Pavilion Under Construction
To give us more flexibility for outdoor activities at Feasts we are constructing a multi-purpose pavilion behind the meeting hall. The site offers a natural amphitheater sound for musicians, plays, and other uses. Spectator seating will be on ground level or elevated on the hill across from the pavilion and we encourage Feast goers to bring their lawn chairs. At other times of the year the structure will provide much-needed storage space for equipment.

Critical New Moon on the Horizon
The new moon of Trumpets will be seen either on the evening of Aug. 30 (next Friday) or on the following Sabbath evening, Aug. 31. This crescent will establish which day all four Feasts of the seventh month will fall. We can’t emphasize enough to be sure to go out and look for it and report it to us. It will be very difficult to see August 30 but because it is a Trumpets moon we must make the effort. Our new moon reporting web site is https://yrm.org/new-moon-network/. Or you can call in at 573-896-1000 and we will have an operator standing by. We follow the biblical calendar based on agriculture and the new moon. As with our walk itself, confirming by visual sighting both the green ears of Abib and the new moons each month compels us to be actively involved in our worship and devotion. This pleases Yahweh.

TEST YOUR TUTELAGE
Where in the New Testament do we find a reference to the Day of Atonement?
A. Matthew
B. John
C. Acts
D. Romans
Acts 27:9 reads, “Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them.” The word “fast” is a reference to Atonement. As we note in the Restoration Study Bible, “This was the Day of Atonement, one of the seven annual observances of Leviticus 23, NIV Study Bible note. Thirty years after Yahshua’s resurrection, a reference to this annual command shows it is still being observed by Paul and those with him.”

“12..11..10…9…8…”
The Feasts Countdown is On!
With the Feast of Trumpets in only two weeks, brethren from the U.S. and around the world are busy making plans for the seventh-month moedim. Ten days from Trumpets is the fast Day of Atonement and then the Feast of Tabernacles, a pilgrim Feast that Yahweh commands all His people to attend. Leviticus 23:39-43 reads, “Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto Yahweh seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath….And ye shall keep it a feast unto Yahweh seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your Elohim.

Magazine in Production
We plan to mail the July-August Restoration Times next week, providing there are no press issues. Our electronic press is aging and we will keep it running so long as we can. Breakdowns are the nature of older and highly sophisticated equipment, and all it takes is one misbehaving part. In a little more than a year the dealer will stop servicing our press. One option at that point is to lease. Please pray Yahweh keeps our printer functional!

How long will the Messiah sit at the right hand of the Father?
A – Forever and ever, Amein!
B – Until all things are put under Him
C – He actually stands at the Father’s side

Regarding the Messiah, Psalm 110:1 says, “Sit thou at my right hand, until I make your enemies thy footstool.” While the glory of the Messianic age plays out according to Yahweh’s purposes and timing, very few realize that Yahweh the Father is the ultimate coming One when He shall be all-in-all, 1Cor.15:28. D – He stepped down to become High Priest

Feasts of the Seventh Month Start in Three Weeks

Arrange your finances, re-arrange your appointments, get the car road-ready…are you making preparations for Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles? The blessings of these days begin August 31 and run through Sept. 21, depending on the new moon sighting. If unconfirmed, the Feasts will be delayed a day. We project the following: Trumpets, August 31; Atonement, September 9; Tabernacles, September 14-20 and Last Great Day, September 21. These days all rest on the critical new moon of August 30, which is a Sabbath evening. Mark your calendars, watch for the new moon that night, and report the thin crescent to us.

Isn’t It About Time to Make Your Commitment?

You have heard about the Feasts and you realize that they are commanded by Almighty Yahweh and are to be observed. But when the time comes to answer His call for obedience there always seems to be some obstacle that takes precedence in your life to keep you away—whether from family, job, school, health or finances.

The Adversary knows every angle. He’ll keep you making excuses forever because he wants you to obey him and not your Heavenly Father.

Isn’t it time you stopped listening to him and began heeding Yahweh’s call? Isn’t it time to step out on faith and receive the blessings of obedience and lay claim to the promises that Yahweh has in store now and for eternity for those who obey Him?

Our desire is for all who are of sincere heart to join us at Holts Summit. If you contact us we will send you more information on this exciting Feast of the seventh Scriptural month. Or go online here>>
Make this your year of total obedience.

Genesis 1:14 is the favorite go-to passage for a variety of calendar teachings. Which of these employ it?

A. Lunar Sabbath

B. Solar calendar

C. Black new moon

D. Vernal Equinox

E. All of these

When a reference is general and vague it can be twisted and massaged to support a number of divergent doctrines. For the solar calendar, calculated calendar, and vernal equinox teachings, the mistake in using Genesis 1:14 is that “seasons” should have been translated “appointed times,” from the Hebrew moedim. “Spring” or “springtime” is not in the definition of Abib, the first month of the year. Agriculture in the time of ancient Israel as well as today sets these appointed times for the feasts and not the sun or seasons. All seven annual Feasts are counted from Abib, which is the Biblical green grain month. That grain, which is barley (Ex. 9:31) ripens in the spring, but spring does not establish or set Abib. Neither do man-defined seasonal markers like the equinoxes and solstices determine Yahweh’s appointed observances. In sum, the biblical calendar is agricultural not solar. The Roman calendar is solar.

Flurry of Baptismal Blessings
For the past several Sabbaths in a row we were blessed to immerse three couples into the Name of Yahshua. One couple traveled from Florida and one from the state of California for immersion. The other couple hailed from Missouri a few hours away. May Yahweh bless their new walk in Yahshua and strengthen them to be good examples of True Worshipers.

New Moon Watch Tonight
The new moon crescent is projected to be seen tonight. We encourage all to watch not only because of the new moon stipulations in Scripture, Isaiah 66:23, but also to orient yourself for the critical Aug. 30 new moon which begins the seventh month and the Feast of Trumpets. That moon will be low, very thin, and borderline in the window of visibility. If it is not seen Aug. 30, the seventh-month feasts will be delayed one day and Tabernacles will have double Sabbaths at both ends. Please report your sightings Here>>

According to Psalm 83, ten nations will form a confederacy for the destruction of Israel and Jerusalem just before Yahshua’s return. Where are these nations today?
A. Europe
B. Asia
C. Orient
D. Middle East
These ancient nations are located in today’s Middle East. The note on Psalm 83:4 in our Restoration Study Bible explains, “Ten nations here form a confederacy to destroy Israel from being a nation. There is no historical account depicting the fulfillment of this Psalm. Therefore, its fulfillment is for the future. These ten nations may identify the ten toes of Daniel and the ten kings of Revelation (Dan. 7:7; Rev. 17:12). The following are the modern locations for these ten nations: (1) Edom – Southern Jordan, (2) Ishmaelites – Arabs, (3) Hagarenes – Egypt, (4) Gebal – Lebanon, (5) Ammon – Northern Jordan, (6) Amalek – Sinai Peninsula, (7) Philistines – Gaza Strip, (8) Tyre – Lebanon, (9) Assur – Syria and Iraq, and (10) Children of Lot – Jordan.”

Yahwehs restoration ministryHot Off the Press – New Outreach Booklet for You.
Our newest booklet is ideal for evangelism. Introducing Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry was written to answer the basic question of who we are along with some of our key teachings. It gives brief and engaging information on the sacred Names and the seventh-day Sabbath. This publication includes a short history of our beginnings and our many avenues of outreach, from television to Internet to Bible truth literature. It has photos of our facilities at Holts Summit, how to contact us and a map on how to get here. We believe this is the perfect tool for reaching out to your community and pray you will avail yourself of copies to distribute. It will be put online in the coming weeks.

New Moon Watch August 1, Critical Moon August 30
We are entering the important months of the upcoming Feasts where the new moon takes center stage. Next week’s new moon is the last regular crescent before the Trumpets new moon, possibly Aug. 30. We project a highly unlikely sighting for the night of August 30, but all need to make an effort to spot it. It is important to look for the moons preceding the Trumpets’ moon to orient yourself to its location in the sky. If the moon is not reported the night of August 30, Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles will all be delayed one day and we will have double Sabbaths during Tabernacles. New moon sightings can be reported here>>

We always project and publish the calendar for the earliest possible dates, as it is easier to delay a day than to go back a day when making preparations. The calendar can be found here>>

What is the oldest city mentioned first in the Bible that still exists today?

A. Damascus
B. Babylon
C. Jerusalem
D. Ramses

Although Babel (Babylon) is mentioned first (Gen 10:10), it is no longer operating as a city. Jerusalem is mentioned in Gen 14:18 (called “Salem” then) but is trumped by Damascus mentioned in Gen 14:15. In light of Bible prophecy, world events, and modern attempts to revive the city of Babylon, someday the answer to this question may change.

Answer: A

Times change, Truth does not.

Best Friend

BEST FRIEND

Many lives appear the same yesterday, today and forever more.
With life rushing past so quickly, how do you behave when the one who is your
best friend comes to your door?

Is there an awareness that, day or night, your friend is by your side?
A friend so close that rides with you as your mind wanders here and there,
your thoughts open and clear, things you don’t think to change or hide?

Your friend is your salvation and he is there when, perhaps, you unthinkingly complain.
He is there when situations and thoughts of every sort occur – so many “what ifs” or “buts” that it’s difficult to name.

Do you share your highs and not just your lows?
Calling on him as your very best friend who is wonderful to know?

Do you delight yourself in knowing he is there for whatever situation that
comes your way?
Even when you are asleep, he is right there. And, if a frightening dream should appear, he is with you – able to lead you again in peace to stay.

Do you remember him when you are at work or play?
Do you carry yourself knowing he is your unseen guest every day?

Too hot, too cold, too long, too short and more.
May we be found not being too arrogant, too fearful and or unbelieving when he is at your door.

Praise Yahweh that he gives each of us time to learn.
A contrite spirit and a repentant heart he will not spurn.
