YRM's Activities Building

Ministry News for May 4, 2018

Progress Continues in Activities Building
We made great progress in the activities building this week. Along with Brothers Ryan Manager and Lucas Cecil making tremendous progress on framing the upstirs rooms, Sisters Eva Welch, Lendia Ball, and Margie Mansager painted the downstairs communal bathrooms, dining room, and all five bedrooms. Not only did all three sisters donate their time, but Eva and Lendia both drove long distances to assist. As a side note, Sister Eva is a professional painter who still works part-time. YRM is very grateful for their help and devotion. For those who would like help, especially with the expense, please visit yrm.org/feast-development-fund. Also, visit our photos page for recent pictures.

Pentecost Invite
YRM will be observing Pentecost on Sunday, May 27. We invite all those of goodwill to join us for this very special weekend in Holts Summit, Missouri. For those unable to attend, we will be broadcasting the Pentecost service live at 1:30 pm, Central, from yrm.org/live. Pentecost is one of Yahweh’s three pilgrimage Feasts. It depicts the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai (as held by Jewish tradition and indicated in Exodus 19:1) and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Not only was this Feast observed in the Old Testament, but it’s listed several times in the New Testament, Acts 2:1; 20:16, and 1Corinthians 16:8. The only days referenced more often is Passover at 28 times and the Feast of Unleavened Bread at 8 times.

What is NOT true regarding the Gnostics?

A. They believed in the Messiah
B. They were especially concerned with morality
C. They viewed the material world as evil
D. They were most concerned about knowledge

The word “Gnostic” comes from the Greek meaning, “knowledge.” They were a heretical sect that believed in the Messiah, but had a very different outlook regarding who He was and the purpose for His coming. They believed that Yahshua came to impart secret knowledge to His disciples so they could shed their material bodies and ascend to their true natures. For this reason, they viewed the material world as evil. This included their bodies, which they viewed as a form of prison trapping their real self. Since they were not concerned about the physical and focused on obtaining knowledge for the purpose of releasing their divine spark, they were not especially worried about morality.

Pentecost Invite

YRM will be observing Pentecost on Sunday, May 27. We invite all those of goodwill to join us for this very special weekend in Holts Summit, Missouri. For those unable to attend, we will be broadcasting live at 1:30 pm, Central, from yrm.org/live. Also, for those who receive the RT magazine by mail, you should be receiving a Pentecost letter reviewing the importance of this day. Within this mailing we explain the names associated with this Feast, the proper method of counting, and the major lessons behind it. With this letter we have also enclosed our Feast of Tabernacles information and registration form.

Feast of Tabernacles Registration

Registration is now open for the Feast of Tabernacles. Along with daily worship services and several Bible workshops, we have many activities planned, including: roller skating, volleyball, bingo, Hebrew dancing, puppet show, bounce house, and more. As for lodging, YRM offers dorm rooms in our activities building and electric tent sites. While we have plenty of room remaining for tenting, we are running low on dorm rooms. Only 9 of the 26 rooms remain. If you are interested in a dorm room, we encourage you to register soon. Because these rooms are limited, they are only available to those who plan to observe all eight days of the Feast with YRM. There is also one hotel, America’s Best Value Inn, in Holts Summit, two miles from the Assembly. This Feast promises to be a blessing and a taste of the Kingdom. Don’t delay, register today. What is the New Testament fulfillment for Pentecost?

A. Yahshua’s death
B. Yahshua’s resurrection
C. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit
D. Yahshua’s return and the first resurrection

The New Testament fulfillment of Pentecost was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Acts 2:1-4. Interestingly, it is also believed by the Jews and indicated by Scripture that the Law was given to Moses on this day. While the law represents Yahweh’s instruction, the Spirit provides for His wisdom and insight. Regarding the other events: Yahshua’s death is depicted through Passover; His resurrection is commemorated through firstfruits during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and His return along with the first resurrection is likely depicted by the Feast of Trumpets.

Major YouTube Milestone

As an outreach ministry, our main focus has always been evangelism. One of our main sources of outreach is YouTube. Recently we hit a major milestone. On April 1st we surpassed 50,000 subscribers. The number of subscribers helps to increase the number of views. Since our inception in 2013, we’ve had over 7.6 million views with a total watch time of over 26 continual years. This platform has been a blessing in reaching millions with the truth of Yahweh’s Word. In addition to YouTube, you can also find YRM’s videos on the following video-on-demand platforms: Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, and Amazon Fire. YouTube channel >>

FOT Lodging

YRM will have 26 new dorm rooms available in our activities building this year for the Feast of Tabernacles. Registration officially opened last Monday and since then half the rooms have already been reserved. If you are interested in staying in a dorm room, we encourage you to register quickly, as the rooms are first come, first served. All RV sites have already been spoken for. We still have plenty of tent sites available and rooms remaining at the local hotel, America’s Best Value Inn. Hotel Reservations can be made at 573-896-8787. You can receive a discounted rate of $60 per night if you inform the hotel that you are here for the Feast of Tabernacles.

Along with daily worship services and several Bible workshops, we have many activities planned, including: roller skating, volleyball, bingo, yogurt making, Hebrew dancing, puppet show, and a bounce house for the children. In addition, we are bringing back two traditional activities. The first we call the “Ultimate Feast Challenge.” This group event contains ten activities and ten biblical questions and is open to all ages. The first team to complete all activities and questions will be deemed the victor! The second activity we call “Pioneer Day.” This is a themed activity day where Feastgoers dress in their favorite western duds and have the opportunity to compete in various challenges, like a watermelon eating contest, tug-of-war, and much more. To learn more, including how to register, visit https://yrm.org/tabernacles-2018.

Donation Receipts

First quarter, January – March, donation receipts have been mailed. We sincerely thank all those who generously support this Ministry. Our efforts are made possible only through your assistance. As we find in the third chapter of Malachi, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith Yahweh of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it,” verse 10.

What is NOT true regarding the millennial Kingdom?

A. The saints will rule with Yahshua as a kingdom of priests
B. The earth will be consumed and the saints will rule from heaven
C. The laws will go out from Zion to all the earth
D. Yahweh’s Name will be one

According to one Sabbath keeping organization, the millennial reign will occur in heaven. They base this on the 24th chapter of Isaiah. Verses 3-4 reads, “The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for Yahweh hath spoken this word. The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.” Based in these verses and others like it, this organization believes the earth will be consumed with fire and Yahshua along with the saints will dwell in heaven. However, according to verse six of this prophecy, few men will remain. Revelation 5:10 also states, “And hast made us unto our Elohim kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Clearly, Isaiah 24:6 and Revelation 5:10 confirm that there will be people remaining after the Great Tribulation and the saints will dwell on earth during the Messiah’s 1000-year reign.

Feast of Unleavened Bread

Ministry News for April 6, 2018

Passover / Feast Review
While we still have a few days remaining of this year’s Feast of Unleavened Bread, we can report that this year’s Passover and Feast has been exceptional. Here are a few highlights: Elder Randy Folliard presented a memorable and moving Passover service. Elder Alan Mansager provided many insights in his message on the first High Day of Unleavened Bread. We’ve also been blessed through the Bible workshops. A special thanks to Brothers Gary Hornickel and Michael Banak who presented workshops on Covenants of the Bible and the Bible’s Hall of Fame. We were also blessed with Hebrew dancing and a special performance from Praises for Yahweh (aka, the Avalos ladies). The brethren also thoroughly enjoyed this year’s Middle Eastern Dinner. Also, the visit to the National Churchill Museum was informative and enlightening. Several brethren got to see the longest portion of the Berlin Wall in the United States. Moving ahead, we anticipate hearing an inspiring message from Brother Harold Ballew this Sabbath along with a stirring message on the last High Day, scheduled for Sunday. Both messages will be available live online at 1:30 pm, Central, from yrm.org/live.

Restoration Times

The March-April issue of the Restoration Times magazine is now available to read online. In this latest publication we visit the ancient city of Capernaum and explore the meaning of faith. We also take an in-depth look at the biblical calendar and explain why we cannot rely on the modern Jewish calendar to determine the biblical Feasts. We also explore a key prophecy in Zephaniah verifying a return to a global and pure language in the millennial Kingdom. Lastly, we explain the real meaning behind the gift of tongues and show why the practice as seen in many charismatic churches lacks any biblical support. We hope to mail copies as a “thank you” to our financial supporters next week. Read here>>

“Yehovah Deception” Booklet

Our Yehovah Deception article is now available in booklet format and free of charge upon request. In this booklet we dispel the pronunciation “Yehovah” that is gaining popularity within the Hebrew Roots and Messianic movements. We explain the origins of this counterfeit along with several contradictions. For example, that while many advocates of “Yehovah” will point out that this pronunciation is found within Masoretic manuscripts (9th century and later), they will not share that many other pronunciations are also found within these same documents, including:  “Yehwah,” “Yehowah,” “Yehowih,” Yehuwih,” “Yehowih,” and “Yehwih.” Another oversight with this hybrid is the fact that the Masoretes used not only the vowel points from Adonai to conceal the true pronunciation of Yahweh, but also did the same with the vowel points from Elohim. In addition to dispelling the myth of Yehovah, we also show scholarly evidence for “Yahweh” from multiple sources and hundreds of years before any manuscripts with “Yehovah.” Request booklet >>

 Building Update

YRM continues to make excellent progress on our activities building. The plumbing, wiring, and HVAC have been installed on the lower floor, including restrooms and showers. The first floor rooms have been insulated for sound and temperature and the drywall is being installed on the entire lower floor. Several volunteers have been helping with most phases of the construction (framing, electrical, plumbing) and even joined in making bunk bed frames for the sleeping rooms. The activity building will not only provide space for indoor activities throughout the year, but also crucial meeting space and activities for Feasts and other events.

 One Week to Passover

With only one week remaining, we warmly invite you to this year’s Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread in Holts Summit from the evening of March 31 – April 8. There are still plenty of tent and RV sites available. These observances promise to be a blessing for all in attendance. We have scheduled several worship services, Bible workshops, and activities, including volleyball, bingo, board games, open gym time, and much more. For those unable to be here in person, we will be broadcasting our Passover service (7:30 p.m., Central), the first and last High days, and weekly Sabbath. As a side note, those who partake of the Passover emblems must be baptized into “Yahshua’s” name, which, for those interested, we can provide on the Sabbath before the Passover. To learn more, visit us online.

Remove the Leavening

In Exodus 12:15 we are commanded to remove all leavening from our homes prior to the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For this year that would be prior to sunset on April 1. In what book does Paul speak about the Passover and keeping the Feast?

A . Romans
B. 1Corinthians
C. Ephesians
D. Colossians

Paul in 1Corinthians 5:7-8 states, “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Messiah our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” Not only does Paul confirm that Yahshua is our Passover, but emphatically states that we are to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This passage, along with many others, verifies that Yahweh’s Feast days are still valid in the New Testament.

Yahshua the Messiah died the same time as the Passover lamb in the Old Testament.

A. True
B. False

The New Testament confirms that Yahshua ate the Passover with the disciples on the evening of Abib 14 and died Passover day at 3:00 pm, Matthew 26-27. Based on the meaning of the Hebrew word “evening” as found in Exodus 12:6, the Passover lamb was killed between sunset and darkness at the beginning of Abib 14. Therefore, Yahshua did not die when the Passover lamb was slaughtered in the Old Testament. It was scripturally more important that Yahshua observe the Passover on the time appointed than die when the Passover lamb died in the Old Testament. If He did not observe the Passover at the proper time, He would have sinned and disqualified Himself as our Savior.

Abib Confirmed! (March 15, 2018)

Abib Barley from Israel

Mature wild barley seeds (courtesy of Brian and Linda Convery)

Based on several reports, we can confirm that there is sufficient barley in the land of Israel in the Abib stage to begin the biblical year. Therefore, the upcoming new moon, scheduled to be seen the evening of March 18, will mark the first biblical month. For those not familiar with Abib and why we use the barley to begin the first biblical month, below is a recent Q&A explaining this process:

Evidence for the barley can be found in the meaning of the word Abib, the name of the first biblical month, and in biblical scholarship.

We find a reference to the first biblical month in Deuteronomy 16:1. It states, “Observe [watch] the month [new moon] of Abib….” The word “Abib” literally refers to young ears of grain. Consider the following sources on the word Abib:

  • “…from an unused root (meaning to be tender); green, i.e. a young ear of grain; hence, the name of the month Abib or Nisan,” Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.
  • “Month of ear-forming, of greening of crop, of growing green Abib, the month of the Exodus and the Passover (March or April),” Driver & Briggs Hebrew Lexicon.
  • “…barley that is already ripe, but still soft, the grains of which are eaten either rubbed or roasted,” The Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament.
  • “The name of the month, so called because corn [grain] was then forming in the ear, a few weeks before harvest; falling somewhere about March or April; afterwards called Nisan, the first month of the Hebrew year,” Wilson’s Old Testament Word Studies.

Since Abib refers to young grain, i.e., barley, this is what we use to mark the first biblical month. Strictly speaking, Abib describes the stage of barley that is within the dough stage or later. The minimum allowance for Abib was a sheaf used in bundling or about two dry quarts. Also, since the Bible confirms that the barley precedes the new moon crescent (Exodus 9:31 and 12:2), you must have barley that meets the minimum stage of Abib by the new moon crescent. We reject the idea of projecting the barley in anticipation of the wave sheaf offering.

Since Israel observed the barley from the Holy Land and there is a need for one unified year throughout the globe, we observe the barley from Israel. While we do not personally look for the barley, we rely on several independent witnesses who travel and document the barley from Israel.

Scholarship also confirms the use of barley to commence the first biblical month of the biblical year:

  • “…Abib is not properly a name of a month, but part of a descriptive phrase, ‘the month of young ears of grain.’ This may indicate the Israelitish way of determining the new year (Ex 12:2), the year beginning with the new moon nearest or next preceding this stage of the growth of the barley,” International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia.
  • “The months began with the new moon, but the first month was fixed (after the Exodus and by the necessities of the Passover) by the ripening of the earliest grain, namely, barley,” New Unger’s Bible Dictionary.

Which is NOT one of the seven abominations mentioned in Proverbs?
A. False witness
B. Wicked heart
C. Sowing discord
D. Praying to idols

Proverbs 6:16-19 mentioned seven abominations: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren. While praying to idols is not mentioned here, it is obviously a sin that Yahweh abhors. The Second Commandment states, “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I Yahweh thy Elohim am a jealous El, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,” Exodus 20:4-5.

Who is qualified to baptize?
A. Those who have accepted Yahshua as their Savior
B. Those baptized into Yahshua’s Name
C. Only those ordained to the office of a deacon or elder
D. Baptism is only a symbolic act

The Bible is clear that only those ordained to the office of a deacon or elder are eligible to baptize a believer into the name of Yahshua the Messiah. This can be seen from the fact that all baptisms were done by a person ordained to the ministry, e.g. Acts 8:11-17; Acts 10:45-46; Acts 19:6. As a side note, as seen in Acts 8:17, while deacons can baptize, only elders can lay on hands for the receiving of the Holy Spirit.
